about

“Occasionally, though, an album like Tomorrow Grieves Today comes along and slaps your ego across the face like it was its mama and leaves you standing there, mouth agape, wondering what the hell just happened.” –RE:UP

With Tomorrow Grieves Today, Time Promises Power delivers an album that unrepentantly drifts from the smokey dance floor to the adjoining rock club upstairs, and then to the headphones of the stereo set. Produced in New Orleans soon after the horrific wake of Hurricane Katrina, this 13 track release abandons the concept that an electronic album or band needs to be strapped to a specific genre. From the dub-influenced "NINEZERODAWG", to the Kraut Rock inspired "Tonight the Stars Revolt!", TPP brings us songs that reference a familiar universe while laying their own unique and mysterious foundation of synth-injured hooks, solidly fumbled beats, and atmospheric hypnosis.

Tomorrow opens with an almost percussive feedback battle that slowly washes away into the rhythmic pummel of "Smells Like FEMA", where the dynamics between dance music, rock n roll and politics start to crumble, and the volume knob gets cranked clock-wise. From there it rolls into a noisy, bass-swirling Olivia Newton-John backed by a sober Jesus Lizard brought up on Neu!. Yeah - this is the album that'll make you trash your MySpace account, write unintelligible letters to strangers on your block, and act creepy on the bus on your way to work.

'Tonight the Stars Revolt!' will be the first single off of Tomorrow Grieves Today and will feature remixes from Caro, Carlos De Silva, Fucking in the Streets & FCS North.

about

Time Promises Power New Orleans, Louisiana

Could two music freaks put together an album while living on opposite sides of the country? Dan Haugh (godheadSilo) thought it was possible, as long as he was one of the freaks.

When Dan left New Orleans for the Pacific Northwest, he and Alec Vance (Chef Menteur) begain passing tracks back and forth from New Orleans to Port Angeles, WA, until to their surprise, they had a whole album.
